Biography

Security-minded technology, built around people.

I’m Colby Pryor, a security-focused systems administrator and cloud and identity consultant. I’ve been working in technology since 2019, helping people and organizations make their systems more dependable, secure, and useful.

My work spans Microsoft 365 administration, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, endpoint support, and IT operations. I’m especially interested in the practical side of security: improving access controls, strengthening authentication, and making good security easier to operate day to day.

Alongside administration and consulting, I build PowerShell tools that solve specific problems. Recent projects include BAESL, which helps populate identity sandboxes; PIM-IT, which simplifies privileged role assignment through Microsoft Graph; Shadowman, which audits user-consented Entra applications; and Portman, which helps diagnose unreliable device ports.

I also write about changes in Microsoft identity and security, sharing practical context on topics such as Conditional Access, passwordless shared devices, and Microsoft Entra External ID.
